Victor is shocked by Clerval’s death. Does Victor’’s reaction seem appropriate or do you think Victor should have anticipated the creature killing his friend? Explain your answer.
Victor knew that hes creature was going to harm someone or something important to him. However i dont think Victor knew that Clerval was next. When he saw Clerval dead, its like he already knew who killed him. Of course it was the creature who killed him, but he only killed Clerval because of hat victor did. Victor did not change his attitude to satisfy his creature and still neglected him so that caused the creature to kill again. Its like Victor lacks common sence; if he satisfies the creature then he wont have to worry about him harming anyone any more, but he still neglects the creature.
I think it is appropriate for Victor to feel shock that Clerval was killed cause who would of that Clerval was gonna be the next victim to be killed , but then Victor should've changed his actions and try to take his responsibility of his creature cause he knew that his family/friends were gonna get harmed if he didn't approve of his own monster . It's pretty much Victor's fault !
I think victor saw it coming or he knew something was going to happen because of him not making the second creature ! Victor could have put a stop to it ! It's like victor wants these harmful thing happening because he is not putting a stop to this creatures doing ! If victor really wanted all this to end he could have said something and got help to teach the creature from is wrong doings! It's like common sense if he can't have someone to care for why should victor !
@ Leah and deeann : I think both of you are right ! He saw this coming ! He could have stopes it ! Leah ye he does lack some common sense ! Haha and deeann yeah he should take full responsibilities for what he has caused!
Jaeana and Deeann, Lol once again we all come to an agreement that Vistor did see this coming around the corner, but he just didnt want to believe that it would really happen. It is Victor's responsibility for Clarval's death as well as William's,and Justine's.
I think that this incident is Victor's fault because i thnk that Victor should of agreed with the 1 creature's desire's onto wanting a second mate. So now all i have to say is that Victor is to blame for this incident. I mean in my point of view he needs to understand all the things that the Creature cant have & the only one thing that he could POSSIBLY have and could relate to is being refused & unable to happen being taken away and rejected from him . I mean how else does Victor think that the Creature would react to this by . Only by anger. -

Oh my gosh, Victor knew that the creature was gonna kill the ones close to him . He should've did so much more. His reactions was lame he was sad, but he was more worried about himself. Victor should have just died. Honestly i think Victor is very selfish.
